Chao-Jen and David’s Wedding
Ceremony
Chao-Jen and David are marrying on Saturday, December 19, 2009.
A short ceremony will be held outdoors at the home of Mike and Carol Alber at 11:35am, weather permitting. If the weather is not cooperative, the ceremony will be held indoors at the same location.
Invitations
We did not send out formal invitations, due to time constraints, but here is the situation: all family members are invited. We have not had time to contact everyone directly, and we apologize for that. If you heard about the wedding secondhand (and are related to us), we would be thrilled to see you at the wedding. Please feel free to let people know about the event.
Reception
Following the ceremony, an informal reception will be held at the home of Mike and Carol Alber starting at around 1:00pm.
Location
The wedding and reception will be held at the home of Mike and Carol Alber. If you need directions, please contact us directly.
Lodging
Some guests will be coming in from out of town. If you need help with lodging arrangements, please contact us. We are more than happy to set it up for you.
Gifts
We do not expect gifts, but have found that some people insist. Honestly, we are happy just to share the event with our friends and family, and we recognize that the wedding comes at a busy time of year and at some expense. If that is not enough to stop you, however, we have prepared a few options for gifts.
- Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center registry — “At Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, our interdisciplinary teams of world-renowned scientists and humanitarians work together to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer, HIV/AIDS and other diseases. Our researchers, including three Nobel laureates, bring a relentless pursuit and passion for health, knowledge and hope to their work and the world.” Fred Hutchinson is a nonprofit organization and is Chao-Jen’s place of employment. We both believe it is an excellent research institute doing promising work. See here for more information about the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center.
- Heifer International registry — “Heifer International is a non-profit organization whose mission is to end hunger and poverty while caring for the Earth. Heifer empowers millions of families to lift themselves from hunger to self-reliance through the gifts of cows, goats and other livestock and extensive training, which provide a multiplying source of food and income. Every recipient agrees to Pass on the Gift of the offspring of their livestock to families in an ever-widening circle of hope.”
